The Fosdem 2014 is just around the corner, and as you may know it is the big mass of Free and Open Source Software in Europe (it takes place in Brussels). It will be this year on the 1st and 2nd February 2014, and just like in the last year, the Pandora will be represented by Evil Dragon. But there’s more… to convince you to attend !
Well, you should try to attend if you can, even if it were just for the pleasure to meet up with the Pandora team (ED and Askarus should be there) and talking with other community members. But this year is going to be a little bit special, since the DragonBox Pyra has been announced a couple of weeks back.
No, you won’t see a full prototype of the Pyra yet, but you can expect the following:
- Some more information about how the Pyra will be designed and why it’s coming out
- Most of the specs! (but not all, yet, as you know it’s a work in progress)
- Some pictures of the current concept case (and MAYBE a first (not final) 3D printed case prototype!). This is really the first time we would really see what’s been in the works.
- A working OMAP5 EVM to give a first impression of what’s to come in terms of performance/capability. (It won’t be full speed)
A very good place to find out more about the Pyra before everyone else, and get to ask questions directly. Evil Dragon will also kick off a new website dedicated to the Pyra, featuring a development blog for all who are interested to follow up on the advancement of the plans for the new DragonBox device. You have probably heard about it already on the boards.
