Hey, C4A’s server went to sleep again a couple of days ago ! This month has been Rather unfortunate, but thanks to the use of Fusilli client now in many C4A games, there is a caching function which keeps your score in cache until you reconnect… so hopefully no score went missing… It’s almost the end of October, let’s see how the compo is going.

Month: October 2014
Weekly Software News October 14th to 27th 2014
OH. MY. GOD. After a week with almost NIL updates and releases, the past two weeks have been very, very hectic on the repo. It took me a very long time to compile the news about the 42 updated and 10 new releases. I don’t think we have seen such numbers in a while, but that’s not unexpected. Canseco got his Pandora back, PtitSeb started integrating Fusilli client for C4A support everywhere, and fixing the broken PNDs following the new 1.62RC firmware release. So yeah, you are in for a long read. Enjoy.
SZ 1.62 is Coming and It Will Break Things
Last week there was a new Super Zaxxon firmware Release Candidate, called 1.62RC. Despite the innocent looking version number, it is updating some important system libraries and this is going to break many of the PNDs you are currently using. I feel it should have been called 1.70 or something, to give a hint to users, but anyway we’ll have to live with it.
C4A Compo Weekly News 23 Oct. 2014
Hey, this update is a little late as well, since there were some major issues with C4A in the past week or something. The server went down, Skeezix took some time to notice, and then the support team was unavailable during the weekend. But things are back online for a couple of days now, and the competition rages on!

One of Us is Fighting Against Cancer
This is a guest article written by Milinks, who had previously written the long and in-depth review of Oolite that was published on PandoraLive, and made it to the first page of Hacker News at the time, too. I have come to know that he is fighting with a severe cancer, and while we exchanged a few PMs once in a while i was humbled by his condition. I offered him to share his experience here, as the Pandora was still playing an important role in his life despite the hardships. So, this is story of one of us, fighting against cancer.
Weekly Software News October 7th to 13th 2014
Oh, that will be a pretty short weekly update. It’s been a quiet week on the Pandora front, to be honest, while there were some interesting developments related to the Pyra, but more on that later. In the meantime, let’s see what happened on the repo.
C4A Compo Weekly News 11 Oct. 2014
I am a little late for this C4A weekly news but I hope you will forgive me. As this is the first week in October it was certainly eventful and a good time to grab a good starting position for the month! We are playing on Not Pacman, Mini Slug and A7xpg these days.
Weekly Software News September 30th to October 6th 2014
There are many updates this week, but this is mainly linked to the release of the new Fusilli client for C4A competition (which is pretty cool by the way!). There’s been a lack of new releases though, but hey, as the weather grows colder we will probably see more news coming up as people will go out less?
It’s Survey Time !
I have just launched a relatively long survey aimed at taking a snapshot of the community members, and better understand their habits as gamers, what led them to the Pandora, what they think of the Pandora, and what they expect from the Pyra in the near future. It’s already online so you are encourage to participate right now!
C4A Compo – Sept 2014 Results and October Compo!
Time to check the final result for September… there’s no surprise for the first spot, since MAT was so much ahead, but there were a lot of changes to the final top 3 in the past week. Looks like the competition heated up until the very last moment!
